The DPS (Damage Per Second) Calculator helps you determine the actual damage output of your weapons in The Forge Roblox. Unlike simple damage calculations, DPS takes into account multiple factors that affect your weapon's performance.

Key Factors in DPS Calculation

  • Base Damage: Each weapon variant has a unique base damage value that serves as the foundation for all calculations.
  • Ore Multiplier: The average multiplier from your ore composition directly scales your base damage.
  • Attack Speed: Different weapon variants have varying attack times, which significantly impacts your DPS output.
  • Trait Effects: Active traits like Eye Ore provide additional damage bonuses that multiply your total damage.
  • Critical Hits: Rivalite trait grants critical strike chance, which doubles damage on crits and increases average DPS.

How to Use the DPS Calculator

  1. Select your weapon class from the available options (Dagger, Straight Sword, Katana, etc.)
  2. Choose the specific variant you want to calculate (each variant has different base damage and attack speed)
  3. Add ores to your composition - the calculator will automatically compute the average multiplier
  4. Review the results showing base damage, trait bonuses, DPS, and critical hit statistics

Optimizing Your DPS

To maximize your DPS, consider balancing high-multiplier ores with trait-enabling ores. Eye Ore provides a significant damage boost when used at optimal percentages (≥30%), while Rivalite adds critical strike chance that can dramatically increase your average DPS. Remember that attack speed also plays a crucial role - faster weapons may have lower base damage but can achieve higher DPS through more frequent attacks.

Trait Effects on DPS

Eye Ore: Provides up to +15% damage boost when used at 10% or more of your composition. The bonus scales with the percentage used.
Rivalite: Grants up to +20% critical strike chance. Critical hits deal double damage, significantly increasing your average DPS.
Fireite & Magmaite: While these traits don't directly affect base DPS calculations, they add additional damage through burn effects and explosions that occur on hit.
